Hi all,
I’m looking for some good examples of resistance rolls involving Insight, and to a lesser extent, Resolve (although without supernatural “will save” effects, I’ve already got those down).

Well, in my last game, we had a job to take a VIP and sit on him for a week until our employer’s arrangements to get the VIP out of town were ready. In the meantime, we were expecting people to come snooping around and/or attack. So one of our Leeches, a tinkerer type, set up a bunch of traps all over the safehouse we were at. When the Red Sashes decided to leap through a window… she went NOPE, rolled Insight to resist, and traps started going off…
I’d also imagine you could roll Resolve to resist something as terrifying as Lord Scurlock looming over you and intimidating you?
Insight
Noticing an ambush, not falling for a feint or a bluff, realizing that the handsome young man who’s trying to seduce you is picking your pocket while he’s doing it.
Resolve
Not giving anything up when the Bluecoats are working you over in the back room, not backing down when Bazso Baz threatens you, keeping your concentration on picking that lock while your comrades exchange fire with half the Crows.
I feel like Insight and Resolve become much more potent when you include the players in the fiction. “He’s lying to you.” Okay, so the players know the NPC is lying, but unless the character makes an Insight roll, the character does not.
For me the classic insight consequence is “You miss something of importance.” The great thing is that the “something” could be almost anything and the player doesn’t know, although will have an idea of the importance based on the Position of the roll. On a controlled roll it might just be “you fail to see that you are being followed.” On a desperate roll it might be “Your foot catches in a tripwire that you missed in the confusion. Make a desperate roll to avoid a large net of rocks that are falling from the ceiling.”
