Hey, I’m currently reading through the V8 of the rules. A quick question, and maybe what might be an error?

Something wasn’t really clear to me: when using Push Yourself during an action roll, does it grant +1 die AND +1 level of effect? Or do you have to pick between the two?

Also, during the “Example of play: Showdown at the Docks” page 39-40, Canter (Adam’s char) uses both Push Yourself AND accepts a Devil’s Bargain!

Even though the rules for the Action roll page 23 say that you have to pick one OR the other. I’m confused!

Thank you in advance! 🙂

  1. Pushing: See page 13. “You can use stress to push yourself for greater performance. For each bonus you choose below, take 2 stress (each can be chosen once for a given action)”

So when you push and take 2 stress, you choose one benefit.

In the example of play Adam pushes for extra effect and takes’a a devil’s bargain for +1d. This is allowed. You may only have one bonus die from a DB or pushing, but you can still push for effect and take +1d for a DB.
