Have any of you played with large groups? My D&D group is currently between 6 and 8 players and it gets very bogged down and we don’t really get much done most nights.
Blades gets to the point pretty quickly, which I like, and I think it may speed a game up but I’m wondering if 7 or 8 people is too big of a group…?
IMO 7-8 people is way to big a group. Ideal size is GM+3-4 players or you need very patient players who like to sit still until it’s their turn to tell a cool story.
“What’s next?” is also a very stressful question when not the GM but the players are giving the answer like in Blades. Bringing 7-8 people to agree with a direction may be a bit of a challenge.
My biggest group til now was 5 players and it was too loud and chaotic for my taste.
If you just go from fight to fight and have a very low crunch system 7 – 8 could work but its not a game i’d want to play. What you have there is two groups.
I find 6 to be the limit for a game like this. I think 4 is absolutely ideal.
