This isn’t spamming but I felt it relevant and had to say, if you’re interested in Dishonored 2 and haven’t played it yet, do! The story, level design and breathtaking lore is incredible. I’m on my third run (trophy hunting!) and imagine a gloomier tone (no sun, mists, the wails of ghosts in the dark), giving me incredible inspiration for Blades. The powers have my mind reeling as to how they can fit as uses of Tempest or a ritual. There’s so much to steal whole-cloth and again, I can’t recommend it enough to get you more amped for Blades!
If any are interested in sharing things they enjoyed about it and how it can be Bladesy, please do. I’m putting a SPOILERS tag from here on as to not ruin it for others.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW!!! 🙂
I remember John Harper saying there was a way to get something akin to those powers in the youtube series, but Canter wouldn’t like what he’d have to do to get them.
Oh, I don’t see it anywhere near as “cheery” as it is in the video games. I can see a very stiff penalty for it after death, which in Blades has very concrete consequences. My players are awesome about not waving off things like “After death, your soul is mine” as not mattering because…well…dead! Things like that seem huge to them. That’s not the only penalty, of course. They’re as endless as the Void we’re getting inspiration from.
I still need to finish Dishonored 1 first. 😛
It’s a fantastic game! I highly recommend playing the two DLC campaigns as well. D2 references a lot of stuff that is much cooler with the whole initial experience.
I really enjoyed the first one – it’s definitely on my wishlist for when have money.
Peter Cobcroft On steam, there was a deal where if you bought Dishonored 2, you’d get 1 and all of 1’s dlc for free. I honestly don’t know if it’s still going on or not.
I had all of them previously. And I think that you could get them as part of the preorder deal.
