  1. Hey John, I thought your comments at the end about an interesting conversation when planning was quite eye opening. The basic gist that I took away was, It’s finding out what kind of plan the characters choose (and how that reflects on them) is the interesting part of planning, rather than the details.

    I wanted to ask, how do you deal with the engagement roll? I think it can be hard for the players to always effectively judge the relative strengths of the other factions, or the possible threats they might be up against. Flashbacks help of course.

    But i’m fairly certain that my players, after finding out they’re at a large disadvantage in the engagement roll, would start investigating and planning and picking something else that perhaps doesn’t reflect who their character is. 

    And then suddenly that interesting conversation isn’t as inspired.
