For BitD I might even go to Saints Row 2; the eponymous gang wasn’t yet on top, and the spy vs. spy stuff they got up to was brutal.
2 made a lot more sense. 3 really ramped the ridiculousness to staggering levels.
3’s also the best of the games IMO. But yes, they took it and ran with it.
I played 1 and 3, not 2. Huge difference there. I liked 3 a lot. The silly was brilliant.
I have only played 3 and 4, maybe I should try 2 next.
There’s definitely a progression from 1 to 2 to 3, in both ridiculousness, the “power level” of the game, and a corresponding increase in whimsy.
