Cool idea and easy enough to implement… Plus a great narrative hook. Nice!
I like it. Alternatively, you could have the player roll the die they contribute, so not only is it clear that they helped, but they have a very immediate, present sense of ownership of that assistance.
We do this in our home game. 🙂
In my Hangout game, the last die on the right is the Assist die.
I agree, it’s often fun to know which die it was.
We’ve often done this inadvertently in BW games, whose rules explicitly state the helping player has to hand a die to the rolling player, which usually means it’s from a different set. I’m.. not a fan, as I usually find it an anticlimactic counterpoint to the main test.
Benjamin Davis handing the other player your dice creates a more tangible feeling of teamwork in my experience.
