Hello!

Hello!

Hello!

I’ve just backed the Kickstarter campaign after a week of excitedly following its rise and rise. Lovely stuff.

Although in some respects Blades in the Dark is not the ideal game for the format, I’m interested in either playing or running a play-by-post campaign on (probably) www.tavern-keeper.com or similar (see link).

I’m based in the UK and have limited time availability for Hangouts or face-to-face meetings, so the format is ideal for me. And I know I’m not alone in that!

  1. Excellent! Please let me know how it goes. I am also trying out how the system works in a pbp format.

While I’ve done lots of pbp, I have never heard of tavern-keeper.com but it looks really slick! Can players or GM post images into their posts or only on the wiki or character pages?

  2. Adam Minnie I’m not sure, I’ve never tried this. The system is in beta, I think, and some things leave something to be desired (particularly character sheets) but overall my experience has been pretty positive.

  3. I think it should do well via PbP due to the short times that TT games generally take to complete a score, which is about 2 hours, according to John.  That means you could probably complete a score in a month, easily.  That’s huge for PbP!

Also, as long as the one on point is active, he others can lag a bit.  At the moment, I’m experimenting with polls to keep discussion posts/time to a minimum.

  4. No problems anymore, I seem to have worked it out. All join requests have been approved. Given the nature of play-by-post, I’d say there’s probably room for another player…
