I’m directing She Kills Monsters at the Statoin Theatre in Urbana, IL and, as people are coming in, I’m running a game of Blades in the Dark with some of the cast. (The show is D&D themed.)

The audience is taking an interest in seeing the game played and the players are having a lot of fun. I think only 1 of the four has gamed much before and another has gamed a few times while in college.

So far, in order to take Aldo’s Opium Den from the Fog Hounds, they’ve lightingend 4 Blucloaks, raided the Opium House twice and gotten close to dead quite a bit, including their tiger.

The players tried to fix the fact that the players killed two guards who worked for the fence they got, opened up the electric gates (momentarily), set a building on fire to do it, and turned a house into a ghost magnet when trying to get a job from under the Fog Hounds.

Deciding that perhaps killing two birds with one stone might work best, they framed the Fog Hounds for killing Jimmy Fingers’ men and then decided to take some pain to their turf.

And beat up a theatre patron, bribed a Bluecoat, panicked an opium den, and burned down a tavern in the process.

Running a game now after the PCs made a huge mess of succeeding in their heist last time by summoning a lot of ghosts and setting a house on fire.

A demon has now taken an interest and they’re deciding if they want to work with it or not.

Should be fun. I’ll post more as they go.

I don’t know if this will work tomorrow, but I’m currently running a playtest of the rules.

One of our people had to leave, so we’re with two now, but getting the job ended up like a Paranoia briefing 🙂
