Weird Ideas for a weird hack:

I was redesigning the playbooks, and now I have a gaping hole on the middle left. I think I’m going to fill it with a Bonds/Strings/Hx style way that your last 2 action dots can be assigned such as (if you’re a Medium for example), “Ask everyone, “Which character thinks my spiritual powers are just new age bullshit?” then ask them, “Under all my lies, what do you think I’m actually good at? Assign me an action dot based on it.”

I might be including an alternate Trauma option (for the insane player) which is to cross off one of your attributes; becoming formless, mindless, or soulless. You probably resist the consequences for that attribute for free, but lose access to your actions. After you cross off your third attribute, you have annihilated yourself. (foreseeably, since I know my own brain, you may be able to switch to some entirely fucked up non-playbook I design which is some Void-entity, an eternal nothing that IS, that has some meta-abilities or is like an additional crew sheet that is operated by a player that instructs you to draw dark sigils on the crew sheet which with repeated observation will manifest real-world effects (this is already a feature of the game ina different capacity.) I don’t know. I CAN’T KNOW. IT’S THE VOID FOR HECK’S SAKE)

What do we think would be an useful way to use Lifestyle Rolls vs Spending Coin? Right now, I’m leaning on an idea that Coin specifically comes out of payoff, claims, etc. and plugs back into the rules in the book like your Downtime actions, creating your Stash, advancing in Tier, Entanglements, and Devil’s Bargains, and Lifestyle Rolls are meant to cover everything else?

Also how would you narrate a bad or mixed outcome on a lifestyle roll. “You don’t have the money” just seems like a boring thing to say on a 1-3, maybe it’s better to talk about how they lost that Coin on their Vices. What the heck do you say on a Mixed Outcome? 😛
