So the more I learn about this system and the similarities to PBtA, I think I have fallen in love with their story driven natures and have already began to think of a few hacks I’d like to do and with the SRD https://bladesinthedark.com/basics.

One of them will be a modern setting (I’ve looked into the Streets of Passion and Copperhead County).

Gunslingers and Muscle Cars, do any of you have suggestions on how I should go about doing this?

I was thinking about this:

Playbooks (Represent modern types of character in this genre; cops, mafia; PIs etc.)

Muscle Car Playbook (custom built cars)

and

Crew Playbooks (Police Officers; Crime Families; Production Companies, etc)

How would you rework the Playbooks or would you make new playbooks?

The inspiration behind this would be shows like VIP (80s- 90s show starring Pamela Anderson); Knight Rider; Stingray; Hunter; more modern types: Fast and The Furious; Gone in 60 seconds, etc.)

I’ve been wanting to do something like this for years and I think the Blades in the Dark system would work well.

Inspired also by Hot Rods and Gun Bunnies from Big Eyes Small Mouth days.

Looking forward to your replies,

Ron

My first questions is….Is it important to use Clocks?

Second is….can I avoid the clocks altogether?
