I know there is quite a bit of Shadowrun Hacks for Blades, seems like quite the task to do right.

Anyone know of good ones? I am looking for one for a game I wanna run, I love Shadowrun and I wanna see if I can find a good hack instead of just making my own.

So I thinking of the idea of Social Harm and other alternative forms of Harm.

For example, you fail or partially succeed a check during a social situation, you lose some grounds in a negotiation with someone influential or well connected, say an enforcer of the gray cloaks or anyone. Would “Humiliated” be applicable to represent that this person is now not as respected or not perceived as they used to be and thus it is difficult for them to influence others?

This is mostly to further explain the concept of Harm in other context than bodily harm.

As soon as I decided to run Blades in the Dark I got back to the Discworld novels and started reading the novels of the City Watch of Ankh-Morpork.

In just a few hours I already fleshed out so many ideas I had an a lot of new ones. Has Discworld been an inspiration to any of you when running or playing Blades?

Ran my first game of blades with 3 players, all new to the game.

It didn’t started very well, I didn’t push hard each and kept the momentum going and the players were a bit confused because they didn’t know what to do, but once the rolls started and the situation became more clear the game took off.

It was fun and interesting, a bit comical and almost failed but players rolled well when they needed too and came out with very silly stress because of some very really good resist rolls.

They decided to scare away from Gray Cloaks with a fake business deal, the Slide distracted them mostly using his skills to as Set Up, for the Whisper to use his supernatural powers to match the narrative of that the Gray Cloaks are being haunted in this area. Outside the Leech was tapping into the local power grid to also a set up for the Whisper, giving the Whisper’s claim a bit more legitimacy as the lights flickered or went out.

After this the players struggled to find what to spend downtime actions on, that is another problem I need to fix, I will suggest more Long Term Project ideas.

Out of the gate I kinda found myself with few tools to learn from, I am not sure if I am not really reading the book properly of if it’s that it doesn’t do a great job at teaching how to run it. Regardless it was good and I will read the book a few more times to GM it better.

This is a game I very much intend on mastering and adding it to the roster of games I prefer to run. Fantastic work, Harper.

I got a Hawker crew with a Leech and a Whisper, they are interested in working towards their first Vice Den, but first they want to have some turf. The book already states all claims are taken by another faction, my question is

“How could a Leech and a Whisper gain a new claim through means that are not immediately conducive to violence?”

It’s less of a question of how could they avoid risk, but how could an scenario of taking a claim through non-violent means manifest. I am sure it can be done, I just fail to see many ways it could manifest so I turn to the community.

Thanks!

I am starting a game in a week or so and the players picked Hawkers, they are interested in brothels and such.

I am starting a game in a week or so and the players picked Hawkers, they are interested in brothels and such. I am struggling a bit to come up with something for them to start with.

Do you think Hawkers can work for brothels? And by extension anything other than drugs?

I am particularly struggling with figuring out how to bring “The Good Stuff” into this sort “Vice” and with the “Supply” and “Sale” Scores.

What would be a good starting Scores for Hawkers interested in Brothels?

Anything works, we got a Whisper and a Leech, both with little combat skills but good skills for their respective playbooks.
