WOW. When I pick my game up again, the Porcelain Dolls are on the verge of Tier III, and they’ll have to start worrying about how lesser gangs in the Docks interact with them. I am totally stealing this.
Great adaption of the clock mechanic. I Love it! It also feeds into that ‘get mo’ money -> spend mo’ money ‘ feedback loop of Blades that I like so much.
Ooo, very nice summary sheet. Totally stealing that. Tithing is a great addon. Also like the Fortune roll to see when the downtime actions happen. Been a while since I read the rules, that’s not vanilla is it?
Paul Drussel Good catch. That is another wonderful house rule from their table.
Paul Drussel It’s been really important on a number of occasions, too, mostly determining whether we got downtime actions after we did a job that started a war before the other crew got to hit back. (I’m pretty sure the answer was “no” both times.)
It’s such a simple addition using an existing mechanism to integrate the faction clocks ticking away every downtime with the downtime actions I bet John Harper has slapped his forehead shouting “By the Leviathans! Why didn’t I think of that!” 🙂
I love it and might even use it as a house-rule. I’m also glad BitD doesn’t have one more fiddly bit for me to remember.
I kinda place it in the liminal space between a house rule and a useful specific implementation of the “when in doubt, make a Fortune roll” rule.
