Our most recent session reminded me of this article. It gives me a name for the genre: “Blood, Tits, and Scowling.” You might get a kick out of it. My favorite part is how the article points up how the genre is an endless drama engine, which is just what Blades in the Dark needs.

Hey, thanks!
I didn’t realize you were the one who wrote it! That’s even more fun. =)
Bookmarking for future mandatory reading for my next attempt to run Houses of the Blooded. Very tasty food for thought here…thanks for sharing, Andrew! And thanks for writing, John!
omg: I want to write a game called Blood Tits and Scowling now.. and have it run off the Endless Drama Engine 🙂
Mark Cleveland Massengale You could build it around 3 traits: Sexy, Stabby, and Sulky.
“Would you say that’s a Sexy action?” =)
I would say that 😀
that’s interesting too, but I think I mean to structure the whole game around the endless drama thing though: “Hoes does the sexy story end with bloodshed this week? What does the bloodshed lead to next week? Probably something Sexy or Sulky. Let’s play to find out”
This is so great. It makes a loop that you can really design around.
