Any ideas floating out there on how to add complications to an assassination attempt on a mid level blue coat, in his home?

  1. Ongoing tense card game with some gang personalities or colleagues. Small kids. Wedding one of his child. Extended family. Fearsome companion. Dog breeder. Has no life, sleeps at the office. Was murdered just before the PC arrive on the scene. Target was forewarned. Becomes a vindicative ghost. Haunted house, ghost is witness. Duty calls target away at the wrong time.

  2. Gherhartd Sildoenfein I like the card game idea. Part of the gather information part could be that he has a weekly card game, and the group could do a social score.

  3. J K There’s probably no reason why couldn’t be tattlers. Especially if the ghost was the Bluecoat’s dearly departed over-protective mother or something.

If the Bluecoat is more of a “bad cop” type, I have used ghosts successfully as “guard dogs” by having the living essentially enslave ghosts with the promise of their freedom upon successfully guarding something.

  4. With a truly crap engagement roll I imaging it’s the targets birthday and the lads from the office are waiting to spring a surprise in his darkened home.

  5. So I went poker game, friends over from the Imperial Military. They spiked some drinks with Nitro. Midway through, the nanny came back with the two children and the vicious dog.

The ghost guarding the place is out for revenge now as well.
