Is there an official date when the full new quickstart will become available John Harper? I’m planning on GM:ing a campaign based almost solemnly in the Docks and I’m in the process of making some preparations. I’ve got stuff like what parts of it are loyal to the different gangs that operate in the area and I’m making up a few big events that will happen that the group will have to take a stand about. I’ll post my reference pic of the Docks where I’ve divided it up between the different gangs. (As I am a poor student a paint-job will have to do, no fancy graphics here…) I’d be very happy to get some feedback if this makes any sense or if I’ve got it all wrong, most of it is subject to change anyway. Cheers 🙂

  1. Illustrative, easy to identify at a glance, bright, cheerful, helpful. Good work!

I reckon I will stick with all greys and obscure glyphs, for darkness, mystery and confusion.

    Each to their own!

  2. I was planning to release the new QS yesterday, but I’ve been unwell lately. I have other commitments over the next few days, so it will probably have to wait until next week.

  3. John Harper FWIW, I recommend not teasing any dates for updates. It raises expectations, and on those times when you can’t deliver, the feeling of letting people down / being let down can creep in. For most creators, being so accountable on micro-updates to hundreds of people isn’t going to be sustainable over the long haul.

Better, I think, to set the expectations of all of us that the next version will be out when it’s ready, and in the meantime there’s nothing wrong with playing with the version we have.

I hope you get better soon.

  4. Not teasing dates for updates is likely a good idea.  Then again, I think we can handle a little disappointment.  I think teasing dates with a disclaimer something like, “It being ready is more important than it being ready on time so the date may be subject to change” would be good.  But then again, I’m kind of assuming that anyways.  I think many of us are.  Anyways, yeah.  I’ll be happy to see it when it’s out 🙂

  5. Matt Horam yeah I’ll probably put something together with glyphs for the players to give them a good atmosphere, this is just a reference sheet for me 🙂 thanks for all the feedback!

  6. John Harper , I think it’s actually a good idea to have us disappointed, so we can experience the feeling of being rejected by society, the thread of broken promises which makes us such wonderful scoundrels.

“Why did you become a criminal?”

“Well, yeah, There was this QS teaser…”

More seriously, WHAT is supposed to be included in the new excerpt rules?

  7. Honestly, the QS2 is more than enough to keep me going until November. Anything else added in between here and there is a nifty bonus. I think it’s great that John Harper is giving us hard and fast dates – it’s a sign that he’s keeping up with his Kickstarter audience and keeping them in the loop, which is one of the best things you can do with a Kickstarter audience. However, I certainly would not mind if the dates were a little more loose and cursory “Next QS sometime this month” would be totally fine by me – especially if that meant the content was finished and ready to be used. Keep up the good work John Harper, appreciate everything you’re doing.
