We are playing a game in which the normal uses of Attune (you know, magic and stuff) aren’t really present. However, we didn’t want to just remove the whole thing – it would affect Insight, for example – and at the end of session 2 on Saturday, one player asked about taking a dot in it.

I said “yeah, I guess you could use Attune like Open Your Brain, Gaze Into The Abyss or something”… I may come to regret this. I will report back on how it goes.

  1. Could you elaborate a little on what makes your game different from a typical Blades game? Both in the fiction and how you approach things. That would help us make recommendations.

  2. I’m sure there are some interesting beings found in Brazilian myths and occultism that can be contacted if you put your mind to it. You could also go with the magical realism angle if a sufficient portion of the people at the table like that style of fiction.

  3. Yes, I’m going to leave it up to the players as to how overtly miraculous they want things to be. My favourite mythical beast of Brazil is probably the Mula Sem Cabeça but that’s the kind of thing you have to really ramp up to.
