I’m new to the BitD band wagon but I’m sure glad I decided to jump on. I recently purchased the game and my mind as it often does with new games went immediately to the idea of retooling the system to do other things.

My first hack idea is nothing more than a rough shell yet to be filled. But I turned to the idea of Nomadic Barbarian tribes living on the fringes of the skeleton of a dying roman style empire. Heat would be generated by the Empire’s still ever present forces while you pillage and steal from them or go on other quests to insure your tribes survival and to avoid conquest by the other groups. Maybe turn the Turf system into a settlement mini-game or something. I plan on remaking the supernatural elements to be more shamanistic and pagan in tone which feels like an obvious pick, but perhaps including some kind of struggle between your faith and those of the Empire could play a role as well. Any ideas and such are welcome as the primordial soup is still stirring.
