I have an S&V rules question. Can the Mystic’s starting ability “The Way” be used when leading a group action? So the Mystic could spend 1 gambit to absorb all stress of failed group rolls?

Great question! That’s one of those corner cases we just hadn’t encountered during playtesting. π
I think the official stance here is akin to those GM homework questions at the end of example chapters: make a ruling for your table.
Does it make sense for a leading mystic to be able to feel the Way and use it to protect their whole team by sensing trouble as it comes? Or is anticipating each person giving stress a different instance, so you’d have to spend a gambit per use?
John LL and I would run it the first way, but that’s just our take on it. You should decide for your table and just keep it consistent. ^_^
Thanks for the insight!
I’ll need to think about what I want to do. The roll that raised the question involved everyone but 1 failing the roll, so in that case 1 gambit seems overpowered…but I also don’t expect the entire group to fail that often.
Letting a character shine in outlier moments, especially when doing Their Thing, is never overpowered, itβs simply awesome. π
