What are some of your favorite details about Duskwall that your groups have introduced to your games?
In my game the city has heavy restrictions and quarantine procedures on food grown outside of lightning barriers, leading to a large luxury food black market.
Watching for ideas 📌
In one of my games, one of my players jokingly suggested an ice cream parlor when he was telling me about how the Hive agent who killed his family had a front business.
And thus eel’s cream was born. Do eels produce milk? Who cares, these ones do. It’s slimy and vaguely offwhite, sickly sweet, but it breaks the monotony of what normally comes from the eeleries so people buy it. Once enough people acquired the taste, it became reasonably popular.

Will Adkisson I prefer the idea of goats milk icecream put forth on Magpies.
Will Adkisson I’ve had eel slime hair gel, but hadn’t thought of ice cream. Jello, maybe.
-An eel farms is called an eelery. Eels will eat anything, so eeleries are good places to dispose of bodies.
-In the winter the canals freeze over, trapping the ghosts below. People go ice skating. Idle gondoliers get rowdy.
-There are three days of revelry around the Winter Solstice: On the day before, you party like the world is going to end. On the day of, you party like it will keep the world from ending. On the day after, you party because the world didn’t end.
-The oilophone is a theremin-like instrument that makes music similar to leviathan songs.
-The Hive mails packages to the hideouts of other gangs: Honey and flowers if they like you, angry wasps if they don’t.
-Tycherosi roses give off red bioluminescence, the rarest color, and are rumored to have many strange properties.
Sebastian Baker In my game shallowly submerged ghosts have what are called “Drowners’ Crowns” caused by their electric nature. The water around them undergoes electrolysis, then the hydrogen is ignited just above the surface, creating a sputtering flame.
My gang of Hawkers create their own product from scratch by infusing hollows with Leviathan blood, forcing possession by a feral ghost, and then extracting the Leviathan blood and diluting it into a tincture. The result is an extremely potent hallucinogen the street has begun to refer to as Darkmoon due to its effect of inverting colours, turning the moon and stars black and the sky white. There’s also a sensation of euphoria, followed by violent aggression when the drug begins to wear off.
