Hi. I am running an open game with a lot of players. Players play according to their availability. I have two gangs, and the ops usually has one player from the other gang. Every game is related to the gang with most players in the table, in the same city and with linked goals.
This afternoon I have a small problem: I will have an equally mixed group. I am thinking about offer the players to select the gang, do it related to the operation type or split the rep and coins between the gangs.
What dou you think?
I wouldn’t split rep and coins. Favors and debt are thematic in BitD. I think it’s better to encourage a quid pro quo style of narrative.
Sounds like they are about to form a new gang.
Maybe track Faction Status between the two PC crews, same as with NPC factions? And use the results of the score to modify that status?
You could also try a non-heist session where the gangs have some reason to interact with each other.
