I’m setting up a Roll20, cautiously. My RL group isn’t that into anything besides D&D and Shadowrun, and it’s like pulling teeth to get them to even try something different. I’d prefer a forum type game since my time is pretty limited but I’m hoping maybe to pull off a Saturday thing. If I can’t do that, I have a City of Brass account that I think might support some type of play? Anyway, I want to run Blades…

  1. To me, Blades is not far from being Shadowrun in D&D, so good pick.

I suggest making sure you have a city map and some districts uploaded. Some location art would also help, a “Postcard from Duskvol,” kind of thing. Try concept art for the games Dishonored or Thief. Happy hunting!

  2. Toby Sennett I know, right? Which makes me wonder what it is about the game that turns the RL group off other than “it’s not D&D or SR” ‘cos I can’t get anything more than that out of them.

  3. Maybe it’s worth having some one-to-one chats, feel out what the hangups are. The rules, the settings, the tropes, or something else. I’m sure there’s some good guidance out there for this topic.
