Quick cry for help from you guys – I’ve set up a Blades game on Roll20 using the inbuilt and rather splendid character sheets. Until tonight all worked wonderfully – now whenever anyone tries to roll dice (either by clicking on the appropriate trait in the character sheet as usual or entering a dice command in chat etc) all we get is “Rolling…” then an error message that the roll failed verification, and a backfilled chatbox as though loads of rolls have been made none of them relating to what’s happened.

I’ve logged into other non Blades games and all is working fine in there.

Any ideas?

  1. Have not seen that exact issue before, but when I experienced issues with roll20 Chat (in my case, no messages or dice rolls showing up in-game even though they got logged in the record), what seems to sort it out is exiting the game, then on the game menu choosing the option to “Delete Chat History”. It will pop up a confirmation where you have to type a phrase and hit enter to confirm.

For some reason clearing that seems to solve some of the chat corruption issues that roll20 occasionally suffers from. Obviously nothing gets saved when you do this so you should back-up your chat history beforehand if having that matters to you.

  2. There’s something weird going on with the latest update – the sheets are not working like they were when I tested them. For example, the CSS for the top-level character sheet is not applying, leading to ugly default sans-serif fonts instead of my Georgia. I’ve also seen the chat corruption happen in another game.

None of these issues were happening when I tested the new version as a custom sheet, so I’m a bit confused about what’s going on here. I’ve started talking to Roll20 about it.

  3. Finn Cullen Thank you! I just hope I can get this resolved (at least the chat corruption seems to be a one-time thing, as far as I can see).

EDIT: Nope, it isn’t … and the chat part is my fault. 🙁

  4. This is my first foray into Roll20, even though I backed the Kickstarter in 2012. We were experiencing these same chat issues last night – well for some players at least, including me as the GM.

So, to the point above… Jakob Oesinghaus what do you mean with your comment that ‘the chat part is your fault’? Can it be fixed?
