Hi good people! I was wondering if anyone know of a Mistborn hack for Blades in the dark?
After trying to use the “official” rules (Mistborn Adventure Game) I figured the system to be much too clunky, and unfortunately balanced for my personal tastes. I am accustomed to Pathfinder and other more “complicated” systems but have recently fallen in love with more “GM friendly” systems such as Unchartered worlds and Dungeon world not to mention John Harper’s masterpiece!
I’ve recently had the luck of stumbling into a game of Blades in the Dark and after a few sessions I was easily won over by the system and the setting.
I have a few players that loves Mistborn even more than myself, and I would love to see if anyone has wondered as I have: “How cool would a Mistborn hack be in the rules-system of Blades in the dark?”
Ideas, suggestions and thoughts on the matter would also be greatly appreciated!
Both games are predicated on the basis of a crew. I know there is supposed to be a hack of Blades with a Black Company feel in the works, which would fit the tone of the first book. I think the issue would be putting the playbooks together.
Well one of the stretch goals from the Kickstarter sound very Mistborn. In fact the first thing I though of when I saw it was “The Final Empire” (the first Mistborn book) :
UNLOCKED! ($13,000) Broken Crown: A playset for the game that adds new character and crew types so you can play a group of revolutionaries intent upon doing the impossible — assassinating the Immortal Emperor himself. By James Stuart.
That is the one I was referring to.
That does sound like a very good alloy. 🙂
Wow, I hadn’t noticed that! Cool 🙂
