I posted a collection of the first 11 chapters of my Doskvol novel for Blades in the Dark, along with a little world-building snippet in front of each chapter. I figure I’ve got about 5 chapters to go.

The historical snippet before chapter 1:
So the sky broke, and the dead walked, and the sea turned to ink, and immortal demons surfaced from their depths. Still there were children to feed. Still there was need of the public, and the public good, with leaders to aim the works of humanity so that individuals might contribute to the survival of all. All of humanity is really only a few stories anyway; tales of love, and revenge, and struggle. The cycles of exaltation and ruin play out across every life, no matter how strange the background may become. We have had eight centuries to prove humanity can become accustomed to anything.

Toimu I’m writing an official Blades in the Dark novel. I’m pulling a lot of detail out of the book, but also adding my own details. This is fiction, rather than a play report or game aid.
