Question: During downtime can our Leech make use of our Cutter’s contact for healing? What’s that look like? Is it simple as the Cutter saying “yeah, I make the intros” and the Leech uses a downtime action to heal?

That is how I’d do it.
Me too; the rule for getting +1d seems ambiguous as written; but in the example on pg. 155 it looks like this is exactly what’s envisaged; Cross is using Quellyn “a witch friend of the crew’s Whisper” for a healing action
Nice catch Donogh McCarthy, I totally missed that!
Yeah, I’d totally go for that. Sometimes those relationships can get complicated, in which case it might lead to some dice hitting the table.
I once allowed someone to get a +1d for a long-term project from their rival’s involvement (it made perfect sense to us at the time, but it was probably straining the rules to say they were helping…)
I’ve allowed PCs to use their Rival as an assist, but the first thing out of their mouths was “You’re going to need to give me a spectacularly good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right here and now.”
If the players play nice. I’ve had players cut others off from the healer lol.
Ben Morgan I think that’s a little extreeme rival doesn’t denote enemy. They are still your friend. Collateral maybe but idk about killing.
Karl Meyer Yes, I like to think of great frenemies; Shakespeare and Marlowe, Motzart and Saliari, Stewart and Colbert; Reynolds and Jackman. =)
Exactly rival not -3 faction status lol.
Some of them have been rivals, and some have been enemies. nevertheless, everyone’s got a price.
We had one character that had believed they’d been screwed over by their Rival, and it came out that the Rival thought the same thing, and they had both been double-crossed by a third party. After that the PC embarked on a project to upgrade them from a Rival by helping them go after the other scumbag.
I also regularly allow long term projects to develop someone from a mere Acquaintance into a Friend.
Ben Morgan That’s a great use of the game mechanics. I have used long term project clocks to add NPCs to the list, and to upgrade allies, if the PCs want to invest time and effort in them. And of course heists can add segments too.
We’ve got a Slide that collects friends. I made custom sheets with more space to write in additional contacts, and he used it all up.
I had a Slide go to his rival to get information on the city sewer system. The rival was more than happy to help. The crew then (wisely) scrapped their plan for sewer-based infiltration (the engagement roll still got -1d because the bluecoats had been alerted that something was going on).
If he’d done better on his Consort roll, however, he probably would have been able to ply a favour without being betrayed.
I’ve been charging characters 1 coin for using another character’s healer contact. But perhaps that’s too restrictive and I should let them use the healer for free. They’re struggling to get by financially…
