Here’s a great collection of high-resolution John Atkinson Grimshaw art. “His pictures innovated in applying the tradition of rural moonlight images to the Victorian city, recording βthe rain and mist, the puddles and smoky fog of late Victorian industrial England with great poetry.β”
Great reference for a foggy, sunless industrial city, especially if you want to consider what more picturesque moments in Doskvol might look like.
So good! I used one of his paintings to make the “showdown at the docks” piece in the book.
John Harper Ah I didn’t catch that, nice!
Grimshaw is deffo being added to my NPC name list π
