In the language of the game, “gang” usually refers to cohorts, or a resource of NPC factions. The PC group is consistently referred to as a “crew,” I’m assuming this is what you’re referring you to?
Honestly, any playbook can work in any crew type. I have a table of Assassins with a Slide and Lurk, and my previous table of Smugglers also had both. In both cases they fit in just fine.
The “oddest” might be Bravos, but it’s easy to imagine a Lurk who does the stealth work, and the public-facing Slide who manages the crew’s relations with other factions, just as an example.
My recommendation is to not worry about what seems to fit conceptually; just play what everyone feels like playing. If a PC feels like they don’t fit into the crew, ask everyone why it feels that way (and consider posting here for advice if nobody can come up with a solution).
