I just got an email timed 16:54 today, 22/6.
It’s from GamesQuest.
It says,
“Your Blades in the Dark Kickstarter order is shipping now and you should get it in the next 3 to 5 days”
I got the email from the Royal Mail telling me it had the parcel at my local office on 21/6 timed at 5:10AM and an email telling me it had been delivered at 10:03 AM the same day. Checking the shipping data it was picked up on the 15th June.
It’s the first time I’ve had notification of shipping a week after it was shipped and 2 days after it was delivered.
Still I suppose it was nice that they bothered.
Got mine from GamesQuest just now, a day after I received the (gorgeous) book. Seems a bit weird – I’d be a bit miffed if I’d paid extra for tracked shipping.
I suppose that if we hadn’t got the book we’d at least know the mail system had lost the book two days afterwards.
Yeah, they send out the shipping notifications after all the books were sent, which means some folks are getting after the books have been delivered. It’s clunky but there’s no way to get them to send out the emails as they do them, only at the end of the shipment.
Fair enough – far be it for me to complain the book arrived too quickly for the shipping notification to be useful!
