Reading the new Scum and Villainy release and enjoying it quite a bit. It’s reminding me of Stellaris. I like the 3 ships with their respective starts and how well they map to Star Wars: “Would you like to be Rebels, Smugglers like Han Solo, or Bounty Hunters like Boba Fett?” I feel like Blades in the Dark, Star Wars, and Stellaris all somehow had a baby together. 🙂

  1. Stras Acimovic, are there more ship types in the work, or are Stardancer, Cerberus, and Firedrake going to be it? Also, the entire ruleset has a very Outlaw Star vibe that gives me the warm fuzzies.

  2. G. Michael Truran that’s it for the base game ships (it covers most of the Space Opera style ships imo). What you’re holding is S&V core info (minus full faction plates) till we back-fill the rules to make it standalone.

If John and I end up releasing some of the stuff we made up for our home game as a small expansion you’ll find another one or two ships and one playbook in there.

I’m glad you’re getting the Outlaw Star vibe ^_^ It really influenced me as a kid, and though I haven’t seen it in a long time, it was a really big inspiration for a couple of playbooks and a few factions. I also have warm fuzzies for that show.
