Much like how I wish there were more technical-skill playbooks aside from the Leech with different takes on what they can do, I wish there was another basic magical type playbook other than Whisper.
I’d make them myself: but for the life of me I can’t figure out what they’d even be.
I’ve been working on a similar playbook actually, though I’m thinking more of an advanced playbook in the spirit of Ghost, Hull, and Vampire. If you had made some sort of soul bargain with a demon and die you become what I’m calling the Twist. You now live to serve your demonic patron and an “Approval” resource replaces stress, except that you fill it in downtime and spend it in the same way you use stress and “Demon’s Ire” replaces trauma. If you empty your approval you earn one tick of Demon’s Ire. Maxing it out kills you (more specifically your demonic patron kills you). Most of their abilities involve channeling power from their patron, some of which are derived from their patron’s element, which is why using them diminishes the approval of your demon. That way multiple playthroughs with demons of different elements can give different playstyles.
