  1. The only thing that would be somewhat challenging is the “crew showing it’s inner conflict” with only one PC. But presuming there are NPC crew members (cohorts, contacts, etc), I think it would be no problem!

  2. The biggest problem with running the solo shinobi score isn’t the game itself, either content or mechanics wise (NPCs, a protagonist’s internal psychological conflict is bread-and-butter in almost all modern storytelling.) But rather, not having a third party to bounce things off of.

The two of you are always in dialogue, without a third person to interject. That’s the biggest issue for me personally.

Also, the game gets much harder, with your collective stress-pool and range of abilities getting narrower. Reminds me a bit of running Dogs in the Vineyard for 1, 2 or 3 players.

But if you’re good with that kind of intensity, then go for it.

  3. We already played DW(and some CoC) in such mode, just switching between playbooks for characters rest. For BitD we agreed that there will be one main playbook and second silent one for teamwork purpose. I`ll see how it would go. I think it would be good to teach player how the system could work.
