Hey guys, 2 quick leech related questions:
Do the consequences suffered from volatile poisons and drugs occur on any roll, or just on 4-5 results and lower?
Also, the leech has a blow gun and darts/syringes as part of his equipment. My leech uses them to deliver standstill powder to unsuspecting guards at range. Do you guys think this is a valid use of the item? I’m on the fence and would like to know what others think.
Thanks!
The volatile effect happen automatically, but can be resisted.
Yeah, I’d talk in your game about what the delivery methods are for the various alchemicals. If it’s a contact or injected poison, that makes sense. If ingested, probably not.
Thanks! That clears up quite a bit. I’ll talk with the leech about what we think can be delivered via dart.
Delivering an alchemical with a dart might have reduced effect because the dose is smaller than what can be injected with a syringe.
Tranquilizer darts for Zoos and sanctuaries are a delivery mechanism for a syringe. I don’t see why this would be able to do the same thing.
Brandon Perkins Ah yes, true. A Leech could easily build something like that.
I was just thinking about dipping the tip of the dart into the substance.
This question got me thinking about the different types of alchemicals the Leech could feasibly deliver by blowgun. It seems like many of them are described as powders.
While I was comparing between the Sample Creations list and the Leech’s supply list, I noticed the Leech sheet, and page 71, refer to Eyeblind Poison, Skullfire Poison, and Standstill Poison, which are listed on 226 as Eyeblind (a powder), Skullfire (fumes), and Standstill (another powder).
When I think of poison, my go-to is the classic vial of liquid, which would be much more conducive to blowguns and syringes. Is this an intended difference/ambiguity? Because the more I think about it, the more clever it seems …
I feel like the process of writing this post was just answering my own question. But I already put the work in, so …
