In the descriptions of the districts in Doskvol there are ratings for things such as Wealth, Safety and Security, etc. How are these used? Is there a page reference to how they are used in the book?

Thanks

  1. Yes, on the pages referring to each of the districts from 255 onwards. P 255 has a map of the city with shading indicating degrees of Wealth. The second page of each district description has details of Wealth, Security, Criminal Influence and Occult Influence with dots indicating levels of same. haven’t read the whole 8.1 pdf but I’m guessing if you want to check if a patrol is coming in Barrowcleft then test Safety and Security using the 3 dots filled in for that aspect of the district.

  2. I think this is one of those occasions where the rules leave it to you to join the dots, however you will.

Wealth, Safety & Security, Criminal Influence, and Occult Influence are district traits and so can be used in fortune rolls. As pages 34-5 on Fortune Rolls describes:

When you make a fortune roll you may assess any trait rating to determine the dice pool of the roll.

Engagement rolls are a perfect example of one such roll. See page 128, fourth dot point:

Maybe there’s a situation in the district that makes the operation more or less tricky.

If you’re not sure, sounds like a good time to roll a fortune roll using the district trait appropriate to the operation.
