High time that another prop showed up here. Doskvol seems a touch more old world than say, Dunwall or Karnaca, so I’ve been trying to keep the angularity of Arkane’s design, but less accent on the fascist brutality. The result in gun design might be something like a breach loading single shot pistol with a crossbow style trigger.

TL:DR? sailing ships AND industrial.

  1. I don’t want to nitpick, but how does a crossbow-style trigger work for a pistol? With a crossbow, you’re holding the weight of the weapon with your other hand. You use your trigger hand to maneuver the bow’s tail around and aim, and squeeze that release with your whole hand when you want to fire. A pistol is one-handed, so you need a solid grip on it to aim. How do you hold this and aim without pulling the trigger?

The visual style (and quality of the work) here is awesome, I’m just having an issue with the logistics of the weapon.

  2. Fair point. I plead the Rule of Cool. Standard trigger just looked stodgy, less bladesy. Though the hammer makes a misfire pretty unlikely. Unless you’re the kind of devil-may-care rogue who walks around with a safety-off pistol jammed in your waistband. Surely everyone in Duskvol is safety minded, right?
