What type of plan would a classic bank heist be? Running in, masked, pointing guns at people yelling “Put the money in the bag”.
The one most fitting seems “Transport” since you want to get the money from the bank to your lair^^

Assault + Transport?
Yeah, definitely sounds like an assault with the point of attack being the front door. I could see a linked plan for the getaway being fun, but a transport plan couldn’t cover the whole score.
Thirding Assault. You always want to get the money back to your lair.
… or going in with a (fake?) bomb plus “give me the money or I blow everything up” is a deception plan?
What’s the important bit of the story? If the bit getting the money in the bank is what interests I would go with an assault, but if you want to deal with getting away with the money I’d go transport.
IMHO, it’s the plan of approach, rather than “every piece we’ll need to account for.”
Getting people to give you money by threatening them with guns, seems clearly like assault.
(Drilling a tunnel after hours would be Stealth. Infiltrating the banking staff would be Deception. Colluding with the bank manager to fake a theft and give you money would be Social.)
Transport has always felt “off to the side” to me. It’s about what you’re doing, more than how you’re doing it. It’s not about gaining access (a VERY typical concern for Shadows, which the game started put with; other crews probably have different priorities).
See, I always see the plan as the means to the loot, so in this case it’s most definitely assault, like the diamond robbery in Snatch.
A transport plan is where the transportation of someone/something gets you paid. You aren’t stealing the mark (though you could and this would be a deception plan combined with transport!), you are delivering.
Oh, and from another angle: The way I see it, the primary goal of the plan-type/detail scheme is to get you started. To not get bogged down in “is this safe,” “will this work,” “how will we handle–“. Just to get enough framing for the score, and enough detail to give you something to build off of.
(A secondary goal is, if you don’t have a plan, then going “Let’s do a Stealth score!” gives you a direction to start moving in. “OK, let’s come up with a detail!”. But I digress.)
Point being: If it’s clear what your basic plan is, and you have some defining detail of how things kick off, then it’s not really a big deal whether you can slot it into one of the specific plan-types. You’ve got a plan, and a detail. That’s all the system is really aiming for anyway, so you’re good to go 🙂
(On Rollplay Blades, I’ve noticed the group often comes up with a quick plan outline, and they never even do the plan-type/detail. It seems to work pretty well 🙂 )
