If a crew member goes to jail, what happens? (aside from possible trauma or a prison claim). Do they sit out the next few sessions (depending on how long the sentence is) as though they got lost in their vice? Do you RP what’s going on in the prison as the other players do a score?

When one of our PCs went into Ironhook, we basically treated the character as Lost for the time being. It helped that all of our players were playing 2 PCs, so the player wasn’t left out. I did cut back to what was going on inside here and there, though.
One of the benefits you can get from prison claims allows you to carry load/items in prison. This implies that there’s some stuff you can get up to on the inside, not just being out for the duration(though you could do that too of course). Has anyone had a chance to use this yet?
Depends on the player, character, and the playbook. A Spider might want to figure out everything with their crew. Or they could talk about it briefly as an aside or outside of the session entirely. See how the player wants to handle it and cater to that. There’s also how the crew wants to handle things. Do they lay low or keep forging on? Time skip with some detailing or on to the next score? Basically, talk it out, see what works for your situation and players, go from there.
I’ve offered my Slide to play another character but he preferred to play in jail. It went pretty well – he made some new nemesis’sss (what is the plural of nemesis?) and killed some peoples. Also, we had two really bizarre supernatural episodes, so he was involved in a few group actions, sense8 style (if you ever need to explain why the cult ability “bound in darkness” is awesome – watch sense8 )
Roe Portal ‘Nemeses’, with the ‘ses’ pronounced like ‘sees’.
Maybe you could offer them a prison based downtime action every downtime they’re imprisoned for. If the players are interested, you could even do some roleplaying. I like to imagine the Riddick game, Escape From Butcher Bay or something similar.
You could run an entire campaign around the goings-on in Ironhook. Look at something like Oz for inspiration there.
