Are we getting more general adjectives for what each Trait Rating means in v8?
I’ve been playing for a year but it’s still a part of the game I have some amount of discomfort with assessing because I don’t have the best place in the current QS to just go, “Okay, the path from one side of Nightmarket to the other widthwise is probably a Quality X distance because it’s a Serious or Formidable distance. This being instead of lengthwise which is a Brutal distance which would be Quality Y. So, I’ll roll X dice to add to this Deadline clock when the PCs travel there by foot.” Or something to that effect when you wind up in those weird situations like giving someone X number of Carefulness dice.
There’s a master table of Magnitude, with a variety of traits on it. Actually… here, I’ll just give a little preview. 🙂

Hopefully that helps. However, you’ll always have to make a judgment call. It’s a 0-4 scale in general, just like the PC’s action ratings (with 5 and 6 as ‘extreme’ levels on top. Roll 2d by default.
John Harper YES. ALL I WANT FOR BLADESMAS IS THAT TABLE.
You know those moments when a thing you didn’t know you wanted or needed suddenly exists and you realize how much you need that thing? It happened. Thank you, John.
I cannot wait to have this book. It’s going to be fucking amazing.
That’s a super helpful table! Possibly ‘+duper’ helpful.
I hope every hack will include customize tables like those (starship distances, dungen deadlines, unspeakable horror unspeakablness, ext’)
