John Harper one of my players just asked an interesting question. Is there a “sell asset” roll? For example, if the team aquire a drug den, can they then sell it for a quick profit?

There’s no hard rule in game, but this sounds like a Score.
Or a long term project. Because sometimes finding a buyer willing to pay what its worth takes time.
Selling a drug den seems pretty tricky to me. A score or a long-term project both make sense.
Crazy idea: what if you snagged turf and gifted it to a more powerful faction (“Hey, Mr Baz, we knocked over this Red Sash drug den but we’re a cult and don’t really need it. Interested?”)? What mechanical benefits might you suggest?
Improved faction status. Maybe a small cut of the profits if it’s a coin-generating claim.
I figure that allying with other factions long-term is pretty damn important. Also, of the four character’s my fiancĂ© made, one is like a daughter to Baszo Baz, so being tight with the Lampblacks is probably going to be a thing.
Our crew needed to sell the brothel they’d captured from the Red Sashes (and quickly, before retribution arrived!)
We did it as a social score.
The engagement roll went well – they were shown into a meeting with Baszo, and roleplayed the sales pitch of “Hey, so you already run brothels, and this way you’ve taken some of their turf without starting the war yet. If they attack to get it back, then they’re the ones starting the war not you. That’ll help you keep the Crows on side.”
And then I called for a sway roll, which succeeded. And it was done. Two rolls for that score, over quickly, no complications.
It was surprisingly satisfying for everyone involved. But it also had the potential (as all BitD scores do) of escalating. Failed engagement rolls, failed sway rolls, maybe the crew would have been accused of starting the war early and dragging the Lampblacks in. Maybe the Sashes wouldn’t have cared that the brothel was sold and go after the crew directly for retribution, and so on. But, in this case, the dice said that it went smoothly.
