  1. “So we chased the whisper into his lair–big mistake, right? But what else could we do? Turns out his basement had a marble floor, carved to look like the Neversea. Slick, tough to keep your footing. And he could drop down through it like it was water, and move around in there, popping up where you least expected. Right, my first thought was to get out of there too. But then he grabbed Kyvic and pulled her under with him. I couldn’t just leave her, could I? Especially when I saw all the ghosts he had trapped in there…”
