Started listening to Friends at the Table playing the game and its great and is great demonstration of the rules. Make me want to play it even more!

Austin was a bit apologetic about their rules usage (getting a few things wrong at times), but I think it’s great. Blades was designed to be roughly used — it’s a practical tool, not a delicate instrument. I love how FatT takes hold of it and puts it to work as they see fit.
I think for me, this is a game that benefits from listening to and “seeing” it in action as well as playing it. I like the system a lot and I think the setting is incredible. I just wouldn’t want to do the system injustice by not understanding it well enough…my desire for rules mastery is strong.
I also love systems, and so many design decisions in BitD are so smart it was a pleasure to just read the book. Well except for the fictional stuff for me. That’s useful and well put together, and I don’t have any problems with it, but it was harder to get me to read through that part.
I found Blades through FatT, and I recommend that you keep listening. It just seems to keep getting better, and maybe even listen to the non-blade’s stuff. It’s pretty good.
I will say that I did notice some things that made me question if they were following the rules properly, or if I had misread them. Like John says though the system is robust enough to handle it, and if they are still able to tell a good story and enjoy themselves that’s what matters.
Thanks for posting this.
The Blades episodes weren’t easy to find. So to anyone else looking for it, the first appearance of Blades is 3 episodes in (the same campaign that is on their home page, which starts as a different game system)

Mark Cleveland Massengale What are episodes 1&2? And can you listen to this episode without listening to those two first?
Jason Lee They design and form the world. It’s actually very involved and worth listening to if you want ideas on world building.
Cool. Have downloaded 1-5 to listen to. Thanks for the suggestion.
Trung Bui Thanks for mentioning Friends At The Table. I’ve already gone through the two world building episodes and am halfway through the second heist. I’m thoroughly enjoying it and it’s helping solidify some of the rules in my mind.
