When you switch your playbook to Ghost or Hull, if you had some trauma, does it convert into gloom or wear? or do you start afresh acquiring gloom/wear?

You certainly wouldn’t have wear, since that has to do with damage done to the hull itself. Gloom may be up to interpretation, but I would say no.
I would convert Trauma to Gloom for the Ghost though, because I think the fiction of death with Trauma should mean you also have Gloom. Only a person who died without such Trauma should be free of Gloom
I thought about this some more. Since you lose most of your special abilities, it seems fair to me that you shouldn’t have to keep the trauma that earning those abilities cost you. So I wouldn’t convert trauma to gloom.
Fictionally, becoming a ghost is so traumatic that it overshadows your past traumas. You still “have” the traumas in the sense of being a basket-case, but they just don’t matter much compared with being a howling rage-filled vortex of unholy decay spiraling into oblivion.
You start fresh.
Thanks for that. I knew I should probably bring it up to my players: but now I know what I am talking about (as intended, or through a darker lens)
