So reading through the lastest update, I’m chuffed at the way the game has taken shape over the past few years, and hankering to play some more. The gazeteer is Phenomenal John Harper! The best example of your ‘wide but shallow’ adage in setting design. Love it.

I just realised I’ve only ever GM’d Blades, and I’d REALLY love to play. My favourite playbook methinks is the Hound, and I’d love to be in a Crew of Breakers living in Dunslough, that have taken the Dogs of War special ability and systematically hunt down all our enemies on our way to the top of the faction ladder.

That said, an all Whisper Cult hanging out in Nightmarket would be damn fine too!

What’s your favourite playbook / cult combo that you’d LOVE to play the heck out of?

  1. I’ve had an idea for a kind of skirmish-built Whisper who’s “special friend” is the ghost of his lover. But, my favorite playbook so far is the Leech.

Also have a wierd hankering to play a Ghost-hunter Cutter.

And I definitely want to see a Cult, where all the playbooks start with their Ghost ability taken.

  2. I’ve briefly played a Leech, but now I’ve GM’ed a bit I find myself drawn to the Hound. And now I’m thinking about how that would work in a ghost cult, cool idea Stras Acimovic!

  3. Nathan Roberts I’d be happy to return the favour one weekend, let you run wild in Doskvol. Be careful you don’t get snared in the webs of Grandmother Spider, however!

  4. I’d like to play a slide someday, but I know that will never happen. My group of friends has 2 DMs, the guy who DMs all the D&D (PF and 5E), and myself who DMs any indie stuff I can convince them to play.

  5. I’m fortunate in that the group is usually willing to try anything, they just don’t like to change games (and learn new rules) with the same frequency that I buy new things. They’re hooked on blades now, no arm twisting required. Now I’m just trying to convince them to give Phoenix: Dawn Command a chance.
