Do you think a score could be used to handle LTP actions?

Do you think a score could be used to handle LTP actions?

Do you think a score could be used to handle LTP actions? ie-producing income from your lair, building a machine that flies using spirit energy

In the first example: a score to get the materials, inform the clientele, etc with the payoff being the income equal to (Tier roll – Heat) per downtime like a claim might offer

  1. I’ve definitely allowed scores to add ticks to LTP clocks if they seem relevant to each other. My cult crew has a clock for “Turn Public Opinion Against Leviathan Blood” and they sabotage any blood they find on missions, or the machinery that uses it. I generally add a tick or two to their clock afterwards. Using a score in place of the LTPs you suggested seems weird to me. Any old score can give you money, and If my crew wanted a flying machine and wanted to get it via a score instead of a LTP I’d probably have them steal it rather than build it.

  2. okay Mark Griffin your comment interests me – what is the distinction you are making? Is it okay for a score to handle a campaign of terror against leviathan blood trade? What if the methods were actually legal; given the right framing, is this not a score, but with different risks? What aBout building a flying machine rather than stealing it – what is the difference (other than the risks along the way)?

  3. Both of your leviathan blood options seem like scores, one is probably a social plan and the other is likely some other plan. I can clearly see envision the plan, the obstacles and the consequences. Both scores could easily be transformed into fun.

Could you make a score out of building something? Maybe? What’s the plan you’re using? Who or what is opposing you and what are the risks? What flashbacks are going to be useful here? What factions are you hurting, where is the heat, what’s the entanglement? I think it would be hard to make an EXCITING score out of building a flying machine, and I would suggest this exact scenario is why LTPs exist. You could make a score out of getting rare materials, you could make a score out of securing the plans, or the inventor of the plans. We abstract out the actual building of the flying machine because it’s the use of the thing, not its construction, that is awesome.
