Player Handouts: City Districts

Here’s an example of how I’m adapting content in the book into handouts that are usable at the game table.

Question: Is it more useful to have the descriptive stuff from the book on these pages, or would you prefer to have more blank space to write your own notes?

  1. If the descriptive stuff is still in the book for the GM to see, I would say more blanks on the handouts. Then you can choose what to reveal as the story unfolds.

  2. I like description. Index cards are better for notes anyway. And there is honestly plenty of space for marking on the maps or buildings if one needs to.

  3. I’d go with description.  Most characters have lived their entire lives in this city – it would be odd that they didn’t have basic knowledge of most of it.

  4. Since we don’t actually use battle maps, I think the maps are inspirational, but of limited use: gauging clock size due to distance between locations and drawing in turf boundaries and claims. For these uses I’d prefer as little clutter as possible.

  5. I like maps. I also think this is just enough description, I think 2-4 locations detailed this much per district is a plan in order to leave plenty of blanks. I’d also literally include blanks as well.
