Do people use maps in their games at all? Thinking about getting the blank map of crows foot blown up but also thinking about maps for buildings they might infiltrate.

I use a big map of Crow’s Foot, and we label streets and buildings as they come up in game. I’ve been stuck in to theater of the mind for most jobs though — I found that using concrete floor plans really limited the complications I could bring into play on those non-6’s.
Until now, I’m using only indoor maps not for the street. I’m here with Ben Norby concerning limitation. When the players insist I may pull them out, but that did not happen, yet.
I use the maps of the areas but nothing lower level as, like Stefan StruckĀ I think it will limit imagination if I do.
I do: Early on, I used an area map to contextualize the locations and movements of the PCs. Also I sometimes use rough scene maps for framing positional advantages and risks during combat scenes, but mostly stick to theater of the mind
In my Shadowrun game using Blades core, I use a Google map, but I don’t think that was the kind of map you were talking about..
I haven’t used maps at all.
I use a wide assortment of maps…
From Tony Dowler and Jason Lutes excellent isometrics of crown foot to maps from Dishonoured, to screen shots of modern day Venice from google maps.
David Oakum’s paper minis and street scene paper buildings are the bomb.
I use the blank maps for Crows Foot and Duskvol (rotated and flipped) in our Roll20 game. I have each set as the background for a separate Page and as we run jobs and detail locations, we note them on the maps. Street names, businesses and homes, all that stuff.
If you play online, you gotta throw those maps into Roll20 and mark. them. UP.
Yep, I’m on Roll20 as well and Maps Maps Maps.
As Matthew does, I have a page for each area with the relevant maps from the latest version (Flipped as needed). Everything gets noted and played out on the relevant page and left there as a form of journal. I have a home page that has the big maps and generic info.
Every time they go back to an area we can see their previous encounters.
Can we have the rest of the maps please John?
