WOAH! Did you make this Sean Nittner?! That’s so epic and cool!
That is one gnarly shiv.
that’s pretty neat, so what’s it made from?
It’s a piece of rebar. Primarily just tapered on both ends and then beveled on the the blade edge. It was also twisted in a vice and the handle bent. I’m taking a smithing class and just learning the basics now so it took me hours to make, but my instructor banged one of these out in no time!
Very cool
Sean Nittner wow! Well that gives it some great context. Sweet piece. A fitting work
Yeah, I really like that it is essentially made out of junk metal. Like, this is the kind of scrap you could find at a construction site and they’d thank you for hauling it off.
fine hand weapon
Nice to see! I remember my first spear head, back in my re-enactment days. It really helps to have other folk also willing to wield hammers. Hmm, makes me want to make some kind of supernatural legend/myth about clinkers now…
Not sure how slang migrates from Aus, but clinkers = really annoying bad bits of coal in the forge. Actually just looked it up, so that’s fine and international – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinker_(waste)
