Hello community! I’m still on the fence on whether or not to get this game, probably wait till it’s out before starting it with my group. (They’re quite sceptical of WIP stuff)
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had a dune hack in the works or in mind. I think that the premise and rules them selves would be perfect for Minor houses/Sietchs/Smuggler rings. Not having the game in hands I can’t say for certain, but when/if I do get it I’m gonna try and hack the shit out of it.
I guess what I mean to ask is: Is there anything that would fight against this setting? Anything that would fit in perfectly?
I think Stras Acimovic was creating a setting that was quite Dune-ish for Blades.
Max Perman’s right – Throne of the Void I think it was called
It’s in the works, but it may be a little while – still working on Scum and Villainy and Band of Blades first.
I can’t see anything in the current rules that would clash with the Dune setting – you would just need to modify the magic aspects to be prescience based, and reduce their utility. There could certainly be an “uberflashback” action in it to account for prescience (ie if you had a prescient playbook, you’d pay less stress for a flashback – but may have addiction or bad fiction based consequences)
Thanks guys, I guessed that the magic might be a bit hard to include. Maybe have a playbook for a prana bindu practitioner and one for a bene gesserit? Or better to consolidate into one “wierding way” witch?
Goddamnit I need to buy this
The Bene I’d never thought of as magical outside of their prescience (for the Gesserit). Just skilled to unrealistic levels. It would be interesting to have the great houses as factions with their complete monopolies over their specialist areas (eugenics and manipulation training for Gesserit, genetics, body skills and mods for the Tlailaxxu and machines for the Ix)
