  1. When they were added to a later version, I think John Harper mentioned something like the following (these are my half-remembered interpretations of whatever was originally stated):

    The Reconciled are a group of spirits that strive to not go feral like you’d find in the Deathlands, but retain their dignity and perhaps earn influence in society.

    The Horde in a slightly similar vein, consist of a quite loosely organized group of hulls—that is bodies without spirits—who are either self-motivated toward some agenda somehow despite their lack of spirits, or are controlled by another toward their agenda.

    So basically, these are groups representing non-standard humans-with-their-spirits-intact at play in Duskwall.

  2. Adam Minnie has good recall. John’s descriptions were:

    The Reconciled: An association of spirits who have not gone feral with the passage of years.

    The Horde: A mass of hollows, all united in some fell purpose, controlled by an unknown power.
