Do folks have a favorite Devil’s Bargain?

Do folks have a favorite Devil’s Bargain? I’ve really liked ‘so-and-so will remember you’ for various non-combat rolls, where the rogues are trying to be discreet. It lets me come back later with some consequences the players agreed to – with that person showing up with a small gang for various reasons. It also gives them incentive to slay that person and gain more heat. (And then the person’s ghost can still potentially finger the PC.)

  1. Since I’m a fan of The Binding of Isaac, for story reasons I’m fond of

“You find ANOTHER little rag doll on the floor. It seems to have [insert feature].”

the players ADORE them! Especially when thy STAY on the floor.

  2. I like saying “However it turns out, you will kill someone.” Sometimes they’re fine with that, and so am I, as that cranks up the heat and adds the potential for revenge-seeking friends and family.

“Someone will remember you” or “there is a witness” also solid gold.

Offering to add to countdown clocks, worsen injuries, and lose equipment are also defaults.

  3. Sorry, the dolls are Isaac’s dead brothers, and float by him in the game, providine support fire. In BitD, there is this Jasonlike butcher, who treats corpses for the rich and noble, in order to host spirits, and the dolls are HIS borthers and sisters. So, when Baszo Baz summons you and asks why the HELL DID YOU LET THIS UGLY DOLL inside MY parcel of treasure?!?!, you’re gonna go a little crazy

  4. “Yeah, but the ghost who answers is going to be Baz’s, and he’s gonna tell his Lampblacks about your op.”

They murdered Baz on session one. Didn’t zap the body, so here we are. The Pilfering Players lost the opera house while away on an art theft. Next session, we learn about claims!
